Burn candles in well-ventilated rooms.
Keep candles at least one foot away from flammable objects, such as furniture, curtains, paper, plants, or electronics.

Keep lit candles at least three inches apart to ensure that they don’t melt one another.

Candle Fire Safety Don’ts
Don’t burn too many candles in a small room where air exchange is limited.
Don’t burn candles in rooms with vents, drafts, fans, or air currents to avoid rapid, uneven burning, flame flare-ups, and soot formation.
Don’t use candles in bedrooms or other sleeping areas. Statistically, most fires started by candles occur in the bedroom.
Avoid burning candles all the way down — put out candles when there are at least two inches of wax left or ½ inch if they are in a container.
Don’t move candles when they’re burning since wax can drip and cause injuries. Extinguish candles before moving them.
Avoid using candles during a power outage. Using or handling candles in the dark increases the risk of fire or injuries. Use flashlights and battery-powered lighting instead.
Never use water to put out a candle to prevent hot wax from splashing. Use a candle snuffer to safely extinguish candles.
Our candles are made with cedar spiral wood wicks. Cedar is a natural product with natural variations. Although our candles normally burn quite smoke free, at times they may smoke to some degree. Here are some tips to minimizing smoking candles:
Limit burn time to less than 3 hours.
Regularly trim your wick to 1/4" before each burn. Longer wicks tend to smoke more.
Keep candle away from drafty areas.
Our candles are made with natural ingredients such as soy wax, wood wicks, essential oils and fragrances, and dried natural toppers, all of which when burned can create a darker, amber tint to the wax. This is simply a by-product from burning natural ingredients.

Our candles use spiral cedar wood wicks. Natural wood wicks can sometimes take longer to set and stay lit. Here are some tips to better ensure your wicks stay lit:
The first time you light your candle and it has difficulty staying lit, re-light it a few times until it stays lit.
Sometimes breaking off the burned charred tops of the wick can improve burning and lighting.
The first time lighting your candle is important, so try to burn it for at least two hours the first time.
At times the wick may be too long for optimal burning, and the wax may not melt properly to fuel the wick. Simply burn for longer, or trim wick to help the wax melt appropriately.
At times the wick may be too short for optimal burning, and the wax may melt too quickly and drown out the wick. Simply pour out some of the melted wax (while the canlde is unlit) to help the wick burn more efficiently.
